About This Blog

In essence I am
No journey carries one far unless, as it extends into the world around us, it goes an equal distance into the world within.
Lillian Smith

The line between photography and art is blurred particularly with the sophisticated software programs available. It is largely a matter of perspective, as is all else under the photography banner.I think the term "Photog-Art" expresses it beautifully.

I'm not a purist by any means and everywhere I travel my eye is captured by not only the reality but the possibilities.

That's not to say that I always process an image to create an illusion. I frequently process an image simply to reproduce a memory. On other occasions I choose to alter the reality and create a dream. I always take hundreds of images at a given location and have realised that so many of them end up as a placer on my hard drive never to be viewed again.

I have created this blog as a receptacle for a selection of images which will document my travels "out and about". It represents a challenging task and due to the complexity will not be a chronological arrangement, but rather my least recent 'travels' first.

My travels are not to premier locations such as the Greek Islands or The Black Forest, but simply to locations accessible by car from my home. Australia is a land of great beauty and Nature is a Master so it is an easy task to find inspiration just around the corner.

I frequently learn a valuable lesson during these sojourns - some I probably would prefer I'd not learnt under certain conditions. C'est La Vie .

My other blog which is simply a repository for some great links I've discovered can be read at Pandora's Perspective
